About The Position

CG Oncology (NASDAQ: CGON), a publicly traded organization, has a 12-week internship opportunity available in its Medical Affairs applying clinical and didactic training in a real-world pharmaceutical industry setting. Our internship will provide a qualified candidate with hands-on experience and a comprehensive understanding Medical Affairs by providing engagement cross functionally in Scientific Communications, Medical Information, Medical Science Liaison activities, and scientific strategy execution within the drug development process. This position is ideal for a graduate or current PharmD student seeking exposure to a matrixed, nimble work environment and an opportunity to wear multiple hats across diverse responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Graduate-level student enrolled in a Doctorate program, preferably PharmD or PhD or adjacent area.
  • Previous exposure to pharmaceutical industry (Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development, etc) preferred.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and evaluating scientific literature.
  • Fundamental understanding of drug development process and US federal regulations preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively present information.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate cross functionally while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc).
  • Comfortable working in remote work environment.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a foundational understanding of the role of Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry, including drug development, principles of scientific communications (e.g., publication planning), and medical information processes such as call center operations and resource development.
  • Support short-and-medium term projects including real-world evidence generation planning.
  • Analyze and compile relevant published literature and present journal clubs to communicate notable updates to internal colleagues.
  • Engage in external health care provider/key opinion leader meetings with field Medical Science Liaison team.
  • Collaborate on Medical Science Liaison insight report development and present key findings to leadership to inform strategy.
  • Contribute to ongoing clinical trials and pipeline development by working closely with Medical and Clinical teams.
  • Participate in medical legal and regulatory (MLR) committee meetings to review materials for fair balance and scientific accuracy.
  • Prepare and present a capstone project determined in collaboration with the Scientific Communications team, summarizing assigned projects, key achievements, lessons learned, and recommendations to optimize the intern program.
  • Explore cross-functional opportunities based on the candidate's professional interests, including collaborations with Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR), Clinical, Marketing, Market Access, and Regulatory teams.
  • Undertake other Medical Affairs-related responsibilities, as assigned.
