About The Position

Established in 1970, Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, P.C. is one of the area's largest and most respected orthopedic specialty groups. In support of high-quality patient care, we are currently seeking an experienced Medical Administrative Assistant (MAA) to support our Physicians. The MEA will be required to travel to several of our suburban locations weekly. Fast paced and challenging, you will interact with our physicians, patients, and other departments to provide the highest level of care for our patients. The MAA's primary purpose is to provide administrative support to our physicians and create an exceptional experience for the patient. Functions of the job include, but may not be limited to: Scheduling office visits, ancillary tests Heavy surgical scheduling Triaging calls Pre-certifying procedures and tests Answering a heavy volume of telephone calls Obtaining and/or verifying patient demographic information including health history and insurance information Checking out patients Scanning Ensuring patient confidentiality Working Epic queue's Regular communication with clinical and administrative staff Travel between our various sites is required Placing order, refill request Our ideal candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic, able to demonstrate a mature, dependable, and responsible approach while effectively assisting the physician’s practice in all interactions, be a highly committed team player, a proactive self-starter, dependable, and able to be flexible in a changing environment. Requirements

  • At least two- three years of experience in a medical/surgical office
  • Excellent computer skills, including Epic and working with Epic queues
  • Superior written, oral communication, and customer service skills; able to communicate empathetically
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and coding
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and able to prioritize and multi-task
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions
  • Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team
  • Able to manage multiple phone lines simultaneously
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between our office locations.
