The Medicaid Integrity Specialist 1/Trainee 1/Trainee 2 position at the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General focuses on enhancing program integrity through advanced analytics. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Current New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service, or 55 b/c service as a Medicaid Integrity Specialist 1.
• Eligibility for transfer under specific sections of the Civil Service Law.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency with MS Access, SharePoint, and Power Apps.
• Familiarity with Tableau or other data visualization software.
• Experience in implementing new software and identifying potential billing schemes in medical claims data.
• Skills in SQL, data analytics, and coding (C++, .net).
• Experience with Medicaid Data Warehouse (MDW) and data mining.

Responsibilities

• Implement new technologies or utilize existing technologies innovatively to enhance audits and investigations.
• Support unit efforts in liaising with internal and external groups to improve program integrity oversight.
• Assist in projects aimed at fostering collaboration with other divisions, agencies, or state Medicaid agencies.
• Ensure accurate execution of data requests submitted to the Bureau of Business Intelligence.
