Leidos is seeking a Media Specialist II to join the ATF/NTC program! The ATF is a unique law enforcement agency in the United State Department of Justice that protects our communities from violent criminals, criminal organizations, the illegal use and trafficking of firearms, the illegal use and storage of explosives, acts of arson and bombings, acts of terrorism, and the illegal diversion of alcohol and tobacco products. They collaborate with communities, industries, law enforcement, and public safety agencies to safeguard the public we serve through information sharing, training, research and use of technology. The mission of the National Tracing Center (NTC), a Division of the ATF, is to trace firearms recovered in criminal investigations to provide investigative leads for federal, state, local, and foreign law enforcement agencies. This helps identify suspects, detect firearms trafficking, and track the movement of crime guns—whether within a state, across state lines, or internationally. The NTC is the only crime gun tracing facility in the U.S., and it's essential for solving gun-related crimes and curbing illegal firearm distribution. The Media Specialist II (MSII) works within the NTC and functions as part of the Media Conversion Team. The MSII is primarily responsible for the day-to-day receiving and logging of new media storage devices. The MSII is also responsible for the creation of flattened image files to be loaded into the Enterprise Content Management System (ECM) and the destruction of processed and loaded federal firearms information.
