About The Position

The Media Relations Seasonal Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Communications department of the Detroit Tigers, focusing on enhancing the team's brand. This position involves various operational tasks, including media credentialing, content production, and assisting with media-related activities during games.

Requirements

• Must be at least a college senior or recent graduate (within 6 months).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of baseball with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must be available full-time beginning by Opening Day.
• Willing to work long hours, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with many areas of department operations to support the goal of growing the Detroit Tigers brand.
• Provide assistance in credentialing the media for games, as well as compiling daily Tigers and National clips for distribution.
• Assist in maintaining press box and miscellaneous needs of our broadcasters, media and Tigers executives.
• Produce the official scorecard prior to each series, in addition to authoring a portion of the post-game notes.
• Assist with production of Tigers Magazine, the official gameday publication of the Tigers.
• Distribute daily game information (game notes, lineup sheet, stat packs, postgame notes).
• Provide assistance with photo shoots and other media crews stationed in the ballpark.
• Assist with any miscellaneous statistical and research projects as needed.
