About The Position

The Media Relations Assistant (Seasonal) will support the Public Relations Manager and Director of Broadcasting during the 2025 Louisville Bats baseball season. This role involves various media relations tasks, including writing, social media management, and game coverage, contributing to the team's communication efforts throughout the season.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or working toward a degree with at least junior class standing.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of baseball and statistics.
• Ability to work extended hours in an office and press box environment throughout the 2025 season.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop).
• Superior writing and communication skills.
• Excellent work ethic, attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assembly and distribution of daily game notes, including detailed baseball information and statistics.
• Help coordinate and conduct interviews with team personnel for online stories and other content.
• Post to and manage the team's official website (batsbaseball.com).
• Assist with the team's social media accounts as needed.
• Write a variety of stories for the team website and program, including feature stories, Q&A articles, game recaps, press releases, and media advisories.
• Cover home and away games throughout the season, attending most home games at Louisville Slugger Field.
• Prepare the press box on game days.
• Clip game video highlights and upload to online drive for staff and media use.
• Operate DakStats Baseball computer program for in-game scoreboard and live stats.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
