About The Position

Surprise Lake Camp, the longest-running Jewish sleepaway camp in the US, is looking for a creative and energetic media intern to join our team this summer! You'll be responsible for capturing the unforgettable spirit of Surprise Lake Camp by generating engaging social media content. Play a pivotal role in conveying SLC's positioning, messaging and storytelling to families who follow us on social media.

Requirements

• A college student (rising junior or senior) pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (ideally with a love for summer camp!).
• A passionate and creative individual with a knack for storytelling and experience with social media marketing.
• Proficient in video editing software and comfortable with various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).
• A keen eye for detail with a strong understanding of visual aesthetics.
• An organized individual with the ability to manage content on a Digital Asset Management platform.
• A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with creating content for specific target audiences (parents, staff, alumni, campers, donors).
• Knowledge of Jewish camp culture is a plus!
• Adaptability and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Become familiarized with SLC's social media "voice" and style.
• Attend camp activities and events.
• Shoot high-quality video content that showcases the fun, friendships, and excitement of camp life.
• Transform your footage into captivating social media posts optimized for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
• Help develop creative content ideas that will resonate with our audiences.
• Stay on top of the latest social media trends and suggest engaging strategies to keep our camp community connected year-round.
• Help write copy for social media posts.
• Ensure all content aligns with Surprise Lake Camp's brand voice and messaging, to strengthen brand recognition and building trust with our community.
