About The Position

Responsible for providing support and care to meet the physical and psychological needs of consumers through providing direct and indirect care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

  • High School Diploma and state certification as a Medication Aide/Technician (or completion of the 24 hour course provided by Daymark and evidence of skills competency as witnessed by a nurse).

Responsibilities

  • Medication administration under the supervision of Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, monitors medication errors, monitors pharmacy stock and medical/office supplies.
  • Carries out medical orders under the supervision of a nurse; verifies receipt; stocks items.
  • Keeps medical and office equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Performs UDS, COVID testing, pregnancy testing; disposing of contaminated supplies; sanitizing medical instruments and equipment
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patients; performing health screenings, reviewing and recording medical observations and history; taking vital signs.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns. Includes completing medical records by recording patient examination/observations, treatment, response to treatment, discharge plan and test results.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects medical office/unit operations by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
  • Prepares patients for appt / rounds in person or via telemed with medical prescribers.
  • Improves medical assisting, knowledge of MH/SA/IDD populations and services and medical job knowledge by attending training sessions; reading technical publications, attending staff meetings and supervision meetings
  • All other duties as assigned by center director or other senior management
