Responsibilities include performing, evaluating, and monitoring laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols, selecting and performing additional procedures when necessary. The individual will monitor workflow, evaluate results for clinical significance, and ensure compliance with reporting policies. Additionally, the role involves calibration, maintenance, and repair of instruments and equipment, as well as quality control and assurance tasks. The position also includes specimen collection from patients of all ages and providing training and technical assistance to laboratory staff. The individual will support critical care departments by providing timely laboratory results during high acuity patient events and will assist in improving laboratory procedures and compliance with accrediting agency standards.
