JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Scheduled Weekly Hours: 37 WORK SHIFT: 7 On/Off: 8:00p - 7:00a JOB SUMMARY: Receives and prepares specimens according to standard protocol and procedures. Performs a variety of moderate and high complexity clinical laboratory procedures according to section requirements and protocols. Performs quality control procedures required for test performance. Calibrates, maintains and monitors laboratory equipment. Works under general supervision, exercising independent judgment and decision making. Maintains confidentiality of patient related information. Complies with organization’s C.A.R.E.S. standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree required.
• Current or Temporary Louisiana License as Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist (CLS-G).

Nice To Haves

• National Board Certification, ASCP preferred, as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist.
