IMC is currently hiring a Med-Surg Unit Manager . who is responsible for leadership and oversight of the Medical and Surgical Nursing Unit. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Assures quality patient care and ensures that sufficient and properly trained persons carry out the functions of the department Responsible for managing the P&L of the unit and administration of the departmental budget Responsible for providing leadership and promoting effective relationships between departmental staff, physicians and other departments Coordinates all staffing, scheduling and management of nursing employees to ensure appropriate staffing on a daily basis Consistently demonstrates job performance, which reflects commitment to the core values and standards of care of IMC; actively promotes the hospital and supports the mission and vision at IMC Acts a liaison between patient, family, staff and physician, when necessary Sets specific standards and objectives for the Medical Unit in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer and physician Communicates changes in policy, procedures and other appropriate communication to staff and provides feedback from staff. Participates in policy/procedure review, update, and implementation Manages employee performance to ensure optimal patient care and maximum efficiency Performs all other duties as assigned by the CNO

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited nursing program
Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Louisiana
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Minimum of two (2) years Hospital based Nursing Required
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying throughout the organization and externally to customers and vendors
Proficiency in using computers, software and web-based applications, including but not limited to Microsoft office suite
Knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS healthcare requirements

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Med-Surg Nursing leadership preferred
Supervision and management experience preferred
Experience with Studer group principles of leadership preferred

Responsibilities
