About The Position
MaineGeneral Health is a comprehensive non-profit system dedicated to enhancing the health of its patients, families, and communities. The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team on Terrace West. Terrace West is a 26-bed med/surg unit specializing in cardiac and medical patients. Nurses on this unit appreciate the team-oriented approach and supportive decision-making that promotes professional growth. This is a 36-hour per week position on the night shift (7p-7a), requiring three 12-hour shifts weekly, with a mandatory weekend and holiday rotation. An Early Acceptance Incentive of $4000 is available for nursing students who apply at least 6 weeks before graduation and accept an offer within one week.
Requirements
- Maine state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or ability to obtain in a timely fashion, required
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
- May precept student nurses and new hires.
