About The Position

We’re seeking a compassionate and skilled Med Surg/Ortho RN to join a fast-paced, 46-bed unit with a 6:1 ratio. This unit cares for medical patients, overflow post-surgical cases, and a strong focus on orthopedic patients. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses with ortho experience who want to make an impact in both patient outcomes and team collaboration.

Requirements

• Current Florida RN license or multistate compact license (required)
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross)
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required (acute care preferred; LTACH, home health, rehab considered)
• Must have previous orthopedic nursing experience
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered care for med surg/ortho patients
• Monitor post-surgical recovery, pain management, and mobility progress
• Support patients and families with education on conditions, medications, and recovery plans
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality care and timely discharges
• Respond proactively to patient needs while maintaining a supportive, healing environment
