About The Position

Join our Med Surg Neuro team as a Registered Nurse (RN) and play a key role in delivering high-quality care to patients with neurological and medical-surgical needs. This is a fast-paced unit at a Level II Trauma Center where you will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic, compassionate care. With 30 beds and a dedicated team of 29+ FTEs, this department fosters a collaborative environment focused on clinical excellence and patient safety.

Requirements

Active RN license in Florida (or Compact License with ability to obtain FL within 60 days)
Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience
Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
BLS (AHA) required prior to start
NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Monitor patient progress and administer medications and treatments per provider orders
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate care delivery
Advocate for patients and ensure patient-centered care throughout their hospital stay
Educate patients and families on medications, conditions, and discharge plans
Utilize clinical tools such as the NIH Stroke Scale and electronic documentation systems
Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and compliance with hospital protocols
Maintain up-to-date and accurate nursing documentation and reports
