About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Clinical Educator for Med/Surge to join our dedicated team. As a Clinical Educator, you will be responsible for designing and delivering educational programs and initiatives that enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of our healthcare staff. You will collaborate with various departments to identify learning needs, develop curriculum, and facilitate training sessions. By assessing the educational needs of our healthcare professionals, you will ensure that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide exceptional care.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a specialty area of practice within an acute care setting
• Proven track record in designing and delivering effective educational programs
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of healthcare practices and regulations
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Education, or a related field
• Current registered nurse licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and AHA PALS as appropriate for specialty; ANCC certification in the specialty area is preferred
• Must obtain LA City Fire Card certification within the first 30 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement educational programs and initiatives for healthcare professionals
• Collaborate with different departments to identify learning needs and design appropriate training materials
• Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions using a variety of teaching methods
• Assess the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary improvements
• Provide one-on-one coaching and feedback to healthcare professionals to improve performance

• Enhances patient care by mentoring nursing staff in clinical skills and patient interaction
• Ensures compliance with healthcare standards and practices, particularly in patient education and safety
• Conducts needs assessments to tailor educational programs to staff and organizational requirements
• Facilitates evidence-based practice through ongoing education and professional development opportunities
• Engages in research activities to promote quality improvement and clinical efficacy
• Acts as a clinical leader, promoting professional development and evidence-based practice among staff
• Coordinates with various hospital departments to implement educational and clinical protocols effectively
• Participates actively in hospital committees and professional organizations, contributing to healthcare improvement initiatives
• Plays a key role in policy development and evaluation to enhance clinical practice and patient care
• Oversees the integration of technology and data management tools to improve healthcare delivery and documentation
• Champion a positive patient experience, ensuring high standards of care and safety
• Mentor and support staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
• Oversee scheduling, resource availability, and staff assignments to ensure smooth operations
• Facilitate clear communication between patients, families, staff, and physicians
