About The Position

The Public Health Technician at KBR is responsible for overseeing public health programs, conducting statistical analysis, and improving health care planning and surveillance systems. This role supports the Department of State by providing medical support services at the United States Embassy and adjacent facilities in the Middle East, focusing on infectious disease monitoring and research.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience within the program.
• Must be medically fit and willing to travel CONUS and OCONUS.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current U.S. Driver's License.
• Must possess a passport book with at least 13 months of remaining validity and 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Must currently possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance and/or a favorable USG Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT).

Responsibilities

• Monitors and reports incidents of infectious diseases and relationships between diseases and their outcomes.
• Plans and directs studies to investigate human or animal disease, preventive methods, and treatments for disease and communicates research findings on various types of diseases.
• Provides expertise in the design, management, and evaluation of study protocols, sample selection, and analysis.
• Oversees public health programs, including statistical analysis, health care planning, surveillance systems, and public health improvement.
• Investigates diseases or parasites to determine cause and risk factors, progress, life cycle, or mode of transmission.
• Conducts research to develop methodologies, instrumentation, and procedures for medical application, analyzing data and presenting findings.
• Identifies and analyzes public health issues related to foodborne parasitic diseases and their impact on public policies or scientific studies or surveys.
