About The Position

EMC Mechanical Services is looking to expand our team and bring on a Medgas Plumber! The Medgas Plumber is responsible for all aspects of commercial installations including, but not limited to: the complete installation of plumbing, water, and gas systems in a commercial setting. They must also be able to read, understand, and apply information from blue prints and apply them accurately to the job at hand. This person will remain in clear communication with the job Foreman/Superintendent as needed to share progress. They will also assist in the development of Helpers/Apprentices. Requirements

  • Current Med Gas Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of Commercial Plumbing Experience
  • Up to date knowledge of Med Gas Codes
  • Unrestricted Driver's License in the State of Virginia with clean driving record
  • Organized and detail oriented with strong multi-tasking capabilities
  • Able to work irregular and extended hours as dictated by current projects
  • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Run Med Gas Piping .
  • Low Voltage Wiring and Brazing.
  • Installation of Head Wall Units.
  • Run/make connections to Booms.
  • Material Take Offs.
  • Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials.
  • Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.
  • Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Assemble and install valves and fittings.
  • Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
  • Maintain documentation for all building codes, installation requirements, and relevant legislation.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Apply all codes to installations, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met.
  • Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and graded; that they meet the requirements of the appropriate codes; and that they meet environmental protection requirements.
  • Keep daily reports and schedule work in cooperation with other trades and team members.
