About The Position

The position involves completing skills checks in a timely manner with accuracy, maintaining a clean environment, and ensuring vehicles are in a mission-ready status. Responsibilities include providing accurate documentation of patient care, administering medications and IV solutions safely, and following guidelines independently when Medical Control is not available. The role also involves assisting with public relations and marketing activities, ensuring safety guidelines are followed, and maintaining flexibility with vehicle assignments. Driving in accordance with Advocate Health policy and local regulations is required.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • Successful completion of an accredited EMT-Paramedic training program required.
  • Current applicable state EMT-P certification required.
  • SC EMT-P and National Registry Paramedic certifications preferred at time of hire.
  • BCLS and ACLS required.
  • PALS, S.T.A.B.L.E. and NRP preferred.
  • Approved trauma certification required within 6 months of employment.
  • Advocate Health approved driving course to be completed within 90 days of hire.
  • One-year active field pre-hospital experience required.
  • Three years total paramedic experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and qualify as insurable by Advocate Health insurance carrier.

Nice To Haves

  • SC EMT-P and National Registry Paramedic required within 90 days of hire.
  • PALS, S.T.A.B.L.E. and NRP preferred.
  • Three years total paramedic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completes skills check in a timely manner with accuracy.
  • Maintains clean environment to include base and maintaining vehicles in a mission ready status.
  • Provides accurate and legible documentation of patient care with attention to detail.
  • Provides quality patient care and education in accordance with policies and state regulations.
  • Administers medications and IV solutions safely, correctly and per policy.
  • Follows guidelines and procedures independently when Medical Control is not available.
  • Assists with other activities including public relations and marketing.
  • Follows safety guidelines and procedures; ensures seat belts are worn by crew and passengers.
  • Maintains flexibility with vehicle assignments.
  • Drives in accordance with Advocate Health policy and local/state regulations.
