About The Position

This position is in the Facilities and Engineering (F&E) department. In this position, you will need to work effectively as part of a team responsible for ensuring successful and efficient plant operations. This internship position is located in Hillsboro, Oregon, on-site. The Opportunity Participate in the identification, evaluation, and implementation of new process technologies in alignment with business objectives or regulatory requirements. On a regular basis analyze processes, make suggestions for improvement to management and provide input to improving systems/processes. Support troubleshooting of atypical and unplanned downtime events, as well as resulting corrective or preventive action implementation Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution support for plant equipment to decrease time of recovery from process and or equipment malfunctions Foster an environment that encourages continuous learning. Maintain expertise as necessary to stay abreast of technical and industry advancements. Frequent use and application of basic Engineering/Scientific/GMP theories, principles and techniques. Demonstrated capability of applying a broad scope of regulatory policies, guidelines and requirements applicable to the assigned area and suggesting improvements. Represents group on cross functional teams or projects of limited scope. Program Highlights Intensive 6 months, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Program start dates are in March (Spring). A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects. Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).
  • Required majors: Chemical Engineering.
  • Basic knowledge in chemical engineering fundamentals.
  • Excel or spreadsheet experience.
  • Real-world problem solving experience.
  • Professional level written and oral communication skills.
  • Key to this position is the demonstrated ability to provide technical input and teamwork in a cGMP environment across functional and organizational boundaries.
