About The Position

As our Mechatronics Engineering Intern, you'll play a key role in helping design and validate next-generation centrifugal compressors that advance efficient, reliable cooling. Your impact? You'll turn ideas into accurate models and testable prototypes, apply structural analysis to ensure integrity, and generate clear test results that guide engineering decisions—all of which improves product performance and accelerates development for our customers. You'll collaborate with mechanical engineers, test lab staff, and manufacturing partners, taking ownership of CAD models, structural FEA, prototype support, and test documentation as we move toward a more innovative and efficient future. This internship is based in Tallahassee, FL.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD (Catia or NX preferred) for modeling and drafting.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical FEA (ANSYS preferred).
  • Familiarity with GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (plus general MS Office).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior exposure to turbomachinery systems.

Responsibilities

  • Create accurate 3D models and 2D drawings for compressor components and assemblies.
  • Perform structural analyses (FEA) to assess integrity and inform design improvements.
  • Support prototype builds and lab testing for design validation.
  • Collect, analyze, and present basic measurement/process data to stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear test documentation, including reports and BOM/prototype inventory updates.
