Inside the Role Mechatronics is responsible for wiring and controls for all electrical systems for both current product engineering and new product development for Freightliner Custom Chassis products This position will be responsible for the executions of the designs, documentation and support of the different vehicle development stages of Mechatronics vehicle system designs such as wiring, power generation and distribution, vehicle and driver controls, instrumentation, powertrain, ABS and vehicle stability systems, safety systems for custom and vocational applications of Freightliner Custom Chassis products. We Take Care of Our Team Position offers a starting salary range of $71,000 - $91,000 USD Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience. What You Drive at DTNA Support packaging activities of electric and electronic components such as ECUs, sensors, wiring harnesses and power cables, according to the packaging requirements supplied by senior team members. Create wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and electrical harness drawings for all vehicle systems. Support the creation of hardware, software and feature specifications for electronic components mounted on the chassis. Creation and maintenance of bill of materials (BOMs) Creation of electrical harness drawings, heavy cables and installation drawings for all Mechatronics subsystems Support the creation of test plans, execution of tests and review of test results. Support construction of test vehicles and pre-production units Address production & field issues with swift and thorough corrective actions including both long term and short-term initiatives Knowledge You Should Bring BS/BA with 1 year of experience (preferred) of relevant experience OR 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree Mechatronics, Automotive or Electrical Engineering Demonstrated teamwork skills, including cross-functional collaboration Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience with identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems Demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks with the highest level of ethics while having a proven track record of developing strong working relationships with fellow employees Exceptional Candidates Might Have Experience managing projects and using project management tools Working knowledge of NX (3D harness and power cable routing and clipping) or similar CAD design software Working knowledge of CHS (Capital Logic and Capital Harness XC) Experience designing automotive electrical wiring harnesses and/or power distribution cables and components Experience designing brackets for electrical component mounting and harness/cable routing and clipping brackets including stress analysis (FEA) Working knowledge of DTNA Documentation systems.
