About The Position

Your day at a glance You start by reviewing the lab schedule you own—confirming calibrations are current, test rigs are safe, and preventive maintenance is logged. You sync with project and application engineers on new product trials, and occasionally partner with Quality on continuous improvement runs. Then you execute a mix of caster and wheel tests: some aligned to recognized industry standards, others tailored to customer requests, and still others designed to support ongoing quality initiatives. As results come in, you capture detailed parameters, track performance, and convert raw data into clear summary reports that meet internal reporting standards. When a customer sends a unique test method, you translate it into an equivalent protocol using our in-house equipment to approximate real‑world outcomes. You keep an eye out for opportunities to automate data collection and basic analyses—and when you see a better way, you propose it and help implement it. What you’ll own Plan, execute, and complete caster and wheel testing across: industry-standard protocols, customer-specific methods, and continuous/quality-driven evaluations. Maintain and improve the test lab and equipment, including calibration adherence and preventative maintenance routines. Design or refine fixtures and custom test equipment as needed. Convert external/customer procedures into equivalent internal tests to approximate field results. Stay current with evolving industry standards and apply updates to lab practices. Record all test parameters and performance outcomes with precision; produce concise summary reports that follow lab report standards. Develop and manage lab test scheduling and status communications. Identify, propose, and help deploy solutions for automated data capture and analysis. Who you’ll work with You will support new product project engineers and application engineers, and in some cases the Quality team. This role reports to the Engineering Services Manager (or a designee).
