About The Position

Sierra Lobo offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. They also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems for customers such as the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This is a full-time direct-hire position located at or near their Hoover Road facility in Milan, Ohio. The successful applicant will work closely for an extended duration with more senior personnel to gain knowledge and skills applicable to their field while supporting the reactivation and operation of a world-class government-owned aerospace research and test facility. The company is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined individual to join their team as an Entry-Level Mechanical Technician.

Requirements

  • High School graduate, GED or equivalent
  • Interested in pursuing a career as a Mechanical Engineering Technician
  • Must be mechanically inclined and able to perform manual labor
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools
  • Sufficient mathematical skills to perform job duties
  • Willingness to take training classes as needed
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills. (Welding, Machining, Pressure System Fabrication, Forklift and Crane Operation, etc.)
  • Must be United States Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Operate various mechanical tools and equipment, including drill presses, band saws, grinders, and other hand and power tools.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Participate in the assembly and fabrication of mechanical components, following technical drawings and specifications.
  • Identify and report mechanical issues, assisting in troubleshooting and problem-solving under supervision.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
