About The Position

Novelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity to participate in our on-site summer internship. The team is seeking a Mechanical Technician intern that can join the team for approximately 10 to 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in meaningful work and gain hands on industry experience. The person in this role will report to the Associate EMRA Leader and will be gain experience in Mechanical Technology in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Enrolled in an accredited 2 year Mechanical Technology program
• Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
