About The Position

The Mechanical Technician III position at JT4, LLC involves analyzing malfunctions and performing repairs, maintenance, and rebuilding of ground support equipment and systems. This role is critical in ensuring the operational efficiency of heavy equipment used in support of U.S. military operations. The technician will utilize various tools and techniques to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, maintain equipment records, and ensure compliance with environmental standards.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited two-year technical mechanical institution or equivalent, or at least eight years of job-related experience.
• Capability to operate heavy equipment.
• Ability to qualify for and maintain a government security clearance.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Analyze malfunctions and repair ground support equipment, parts, accessories, and systems.
• Operate equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions using electronic, digital, and hand tools.
• Dismantle and examine parts for damage or excessive wear.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance and repair to heavy equipment and systems.
• Repair, adjust, or replace defective engines and subassemblies.
• Repair corrosion, weld broken parts, and apply protective coatings to equipment.
• Reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools.
• Realign equipment and re-torque to required specifications.
• Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
• Service equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air.
• Maintain equipment records and document maintenance actions.
• Dispose of hazardous material and waste in accordance with environmental regulations.
