Requirements

  • 2 years' experience in a mechanic or assembly field, heavy equipment assembly, or technical school with a focus in a mechanical or manufacturing field.
  • Relevant experiences such as mechanical aptitude in a personal or professional setting must be described in application.
  • All eligible candidates MUST pass the following pre-employment screenings before they can be hired to Caterpillar: Background Screening, Drug Screening, Post-Offer Medical Questionnaire (clearance from Corporate Medical).
  • Applications must be complete to include personal and/or professional experience or education related to the role requirements. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months minimum Caterpillar Paving experience.
  • Heavy assembly, manufacturing machines, Caterpillar manufacturing experience or automotive.
  • Intermediate or greater proficiency using electronic and digital devices and mediums.
  • Experience using mechanical tools including torque tools and operation of crane equipment.
  • Understanding of metric units, hydraulics and electrical components.
  • Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support facility initiatives and daily tasks focused on people, safety, quality, velocity and cost.
  • Safely assemble heavy paving products according to model pictures and build instructions utilizing mechanical tools, torque tools, metric units, hydraulics and electrical components within allotted process time.
  • Work with team members on identifying, electronically documenting and communicating opportunities for improvement, communicating discrepancies, and recommending solutions.
  • Work with limited supervision.
