Requirements

2 years' experience in a mechanic or assembly field, heavy equipment assembly, or technical school with a focus in a mechanical or manufacturing field.
Relevant experiences such as mechanical aptitude in a personal or professional setting must be described in application.
All eligible candidates MUST pass the following pre-employment screenings before they can be hired to Caterpillar: Background Screening, Drug Screening, Post-Offer Medical Questionnaire (clearance from Corporate Medical).

Nice To Haves

6 months minimum Caterpillar Paving experience.
Heavy assembly, manufacturing machines, Caterpillar manufacturing experience or automotive.
Intermediate or greater proficiency using electronic and digital devices and mediums.
Experience using mechanical tools including torque tools and operation of crane equipment.
Understanding of metric units, hydraulics and electrical components.
Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Support facility initiatives and daily tasks focused on people, safety, quality, velocity and cost.
Safely assemble heavy paving products according to model pictures and build instructions utilizing mechanical tools, torque tools, metric units, hydraulics and electrical components within allotted process time.
Work with team members on identifying, electronically documenting and communicating opportunities for improvement, communicating discrepancies, and recommending solutions.
Work with limited supervision.
