MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN A

About The Position
Ensure production equipment operates efficiently by performing equipment maintenance on a daily basis. Seeking a self-motivated, experienced and dedicated individual. Must be able to work 12 hours shifts.
Requirements
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems on industrial equipment (including extruders).
- Perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Mechanical tasks: troubleshoot and repair gear boxes.
- Troubleshoot and replace bearings, chains, belts and pulleys.
- MIG weld, Stick weld, drill and tap threaded holes.
- Read mechanical prints.
- Electrical tasks: troubleshoot and replace AC and DC drives, temperature controls, start/stop electrical controls, troubleshoot PLC's, replace and wire 3-phase motors, troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits.
- Read electrical, building, machine and flow diagram prints.
- Basic plumbing skills, knowledge of fittings and thread types.
- Complies with all safety rules and procedures.
- Maintains and completed all required records.
- Individual must be available to work overtime as needed.
- Performs other duties as required, or assigned by Supervisor.
