As a Special Tooling Technician, you will be responsible for prototype assembly, inspection and rework/repair of non-deliverable hardware, special tooling and special test equipment. What You Will Do Prototype/production support will require precision part inspection/measurement equipment, as well as other standard machine shop tools and equipment. Work is done in a shop environment with safety being key. Additional responsibilities will include updating and tracking shop job statuses using the Jira system, performing Special Tooling repair and maintenance as well as supporting test fixture assembly and troubleshooting as required. The Mechanical Technician 2 is an onsite role in McKinney, TX.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree(or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in metal fabrication processes and utilization of hand tools
  • Demonstrated experience in operating simple hand tools and inspection equipment to meet precision machining and measurement requirements
  • Physical ability to lift heavy tooling, work with hands positioned above head, and ability to use ladders and step stools
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
