The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to join our team in Saint Charles, MO. On the BT&E Test Operations & Engineering team, the design engineer has the primary responsibility for the synthesis of requirements, creation of engineering definition, 3D modeling, 2D drawing creation, and model-based definition development that defines the mechanical hardware required to install a flight test data system. This position has a focus on the design of flight test instrumentation hardware to meet the test requirements of Weapons program customers including Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM), Small Diameter Bomb (SDB), Massive Ordinance Penetrator (MOP), and other derivative programs. The mechanical designers work the entire design cycle including support of requirement definition, layouts, coordination with electrical designers, preliminary design review, engineering release, coordination with manufacturing engineers and suppliers, occasional shipside support, and change incorporation. BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior level Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineers.

  • Lead the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment
  • Lead the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers
  • Perform detailed design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations
  • Lead team in performing spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/ordinance systems
  • Prepare technical documents for mechanical components and systems
  • Prepare proposal and new business development efforts
  • Work with test program management for work estimation and intake process
  • Delegate tasks to design team and provide supervision to junior engineers
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical systems design
  • Experience with and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Level 4: 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months
  • Experience in test and evaluation
  • Knowledge/familiarity with additive manufacturing processes & tools
