About The Position

Mechanical System & Design Analysis Engineer (Experienced or Senior) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Mechanical System & Design Analysis Engineer (Experienced or Senior) to join our Low Pressure Design Team at the BCA Design Center in Everett, Washington. Position Overview: The selected candidate will support sustaining and development programs across BCA by providing expert mechanical, fluid system, and thermal design consultation. They will develop, document, and maintain system requirements and design proposals, perform and document analyses to verify compliance with requirements and specifications, and support supplier development, testing, and production to optimize integration and meet program objectives. The role includes establishing and enforcing design and installation standards, producing downstream design documentation, and training team members. This person will be a key contributor to ensuring the integrity and performance of low-pressure systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences).
  • 5+ years experience in mechanical system design and analysis or related engineering role.

Nice To Haves

  • Level 4: 10+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior Designated Airworthiness Engineer (DAE) authority or have the ability to obtain ECS DAE authority.
  • Experience with tube and duct routing and associated requirements.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced aerospace environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting airplane development and sustaining programs.
  • Familiarity with Boeing’s fleet support operations and strong working knowledge of Boeing change management processes and documentation.
  • Comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing/shop floor environment.
  • Proficient in CATIA, ENOVIA, and PDM systems.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design consultation and technical support for sustaining and development programs within BCA.
  • Utilize CATIA, ENOVIA, and PDM tools to develop, review, and manage mechanical system designs.
  • Navigate and manage Boeing change management processes and vehicles, including CN, PRRs, ELRs, CARs, SATs, NCRs, and SBs.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Payloads, Stress, EME, BR&T, Flam, Electrical, and others to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design and installation issues directly on the shop floor alongside mechanics and technicians.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and project ownership.
  • Support tube and duct routing design and requirements, ensuring compliance with system and safety standards.
  • Contribute to fleet support activities and leverage previous development experience to enhance program outcomes.
