About The Position

R. J. Corman is seeking a talented Mechanical Supervisor to join and lead our team in Ste. Genevieve, MO. Responsibilities: Ensures the safe, efficient, and profitable general management of mechanical operations. Oversees efficient operation through planning and control of daily operations, crew scheduling, and supervising. Follow and monitor work practices, safety related issues to improve quality and performance Locomotive and FRA inspections. Locomotive repairs including mechanical, air and electrical. Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repairs on assigned company locomotives, vehicles, and equipment. Freight car repair if necessary. Some travel to other locations required. Performs other duties as assigned. Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience: Mechanical experience required Knowledge of power and hydraulic tools Electrical experience preferred Experience in rail car repair preferred Welding and Oxygen/acetylene torching experience a plus. Physical Requirements: Requires constant standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and balancing in a safe manner Requires frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching Able to frequently lift and carry equipment weighing up to 30lbs Able to push and pull with 100lbs of force, the force required to push/pull hand brakes Must be able to work independently Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment. Environmental Conditions: Must be able to perform specified duties outside in all weather conditions. Major or Unusual Problems: A rapidly expanding company requires employees to be flexible with altering operating schedules. One must also expect physical work in inclement weather. Job Dimensions: Must be able to perform duties under limited supervision. This position requires supervision of fellow employees.
