Webber, an industry leader in construction and infrastructure, is seeking a dynamic Mechanical Supervisor to join our team. The Mechanical Supervisor oversees daily mechanical field activities for renewable energy construction projects, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, codes, and applicable laws. This role bridges engineering design and field execution, providing technical guidance to field engineers and mechanical crews, and reporting to the Mechanical Superintendent or Project Manager. The Mechanical Supervisor coordinates with project management, subcontractors, and the engineering team to deliver high-quality mechanical installations on schedule and within budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3+ years of relevant mechanical experience in the energy sector (solar/renewables preferred), including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, installation practices, and utility-scale renewable energy requirements.
  • Experience interpreting and applying mechanical codes and standards (e.g., OSHA).
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of field mechanical personnel and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to field engineers and mechanical crews, interpreting drawings, and resolving field issues.
  • Monitor daily progress, maintain accurate records, and report work status to the Mechanical Superintendent or Project Manager.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling mechanical work, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Conduct field inspections to verify quality of work and adherence to mechanical codes and standards (e.g., OSHA).
  • Support the implementation of safety policies and procedures, partnering with the Safety department to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Review and approve mechanical work performed by subcontractors and self-perform crews.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team to resolve design discrepancies and optimize installation methods.
  • Participate in job start and close meetings, contributing to lessons learned and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in managing material and equipment needs, tracking usage and minimizing waste.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and training to field staff to promote professional development and high performance.
  • Communicate effectively with project management, suppliers, and other stakeholders to address challenges and update on progress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Mechanical Superintendent
