About The Position

The role of the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor includes but is not limited to responsibility for the following: promoting a safe working environment and a one-division team, leading a mechanical maintenance team, developing preventive and predictive maintenance programs and quality systems, maintaining and troubleshooting all types of mechanical equipment, training and developing a maintenance team, and providing excellent customer service for area of responsibility. In addition, this position will play a key role in the long-term success of the business of Nucor Steel Berkeley and require adequate knowledge of business acumen and terminology. Able to work rotating shifts and scheduled/ unscheduled overtime including nights, weekends and holidays. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Five years of experience in Steel Mill or Heavy industrial maintenance experience
• Five years previous supervisory or leadership experience

Nice To Haves

• Four year B.S. or B.A. degree in Mechanical engineering or related technical field
• Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
