About The Position

Meta is seeking a data center Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our Data Center Facility Operations team. Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our systems operate to meet the demands of our customers. The Mechanical SME will be a part of the facility operations team and will be responsible for being the mechanical system technical operations expert.

Requirements

• 7+ years relevant mechanical industry experience or mechanical trade level experience
• Bachelor's degree in related field plus 3+ years relevant mechanical industry experience will be considered in lieu of 7+ year mechanical industry experience

Responsibilities

• Procedure-based mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training, and project oversight
• Expertise in a range of technologies, including chiller systems, evaporative cooling, DX cooling, water distribution and treatment, emergency diesel generators, fire suppression systems, building automation systems and electrical distribution
• Broad understanding of mechanical system and equipment function
• Experience in critical environments
• Interpretation of blueprints/CAD drawings
• Comprehension of mechanical plans, specifications, and equipment shop drawings
• Working knowledge of psychrometric charts and refrigeration cycles
• Theoretical and practical understanding of mechanical equipment and systems
• Expertise in mechanical equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and/or construction
• Working knowledge of critical facility operations with experience or understanding of procedure-based work
• Working knowledge of electrical, controls, and fire/life safety systems
• Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment
• Familiarity with American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) standards
• Trade Certification or state license in Mechanical Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) Equipment field service engineering or representative experience
