About The Position

C2O Americas, a leading provider of integrated infrastructure and engineering solutions, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the GPX LNG project in Sabine Pass, Texas. This role is critical in providing expert technical guidance, ensuring best practices, and supporting project execution through deep mechanical expertise. Job Summary The Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME) uses in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in mechanical systems to deliver accurate, up-to-date technical guidance, recommendations, and solutions. The SME will serve as a trusted technical authority, supporting project teams through expert review, mentoring, training, and continuous improvement initiatives across mechanical scopes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline preferred (or equivalent experience, but not required)
  • TWIC Required
  • Strong mechanical background required, with extensive experience in industrial or energy-related projects
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a technical authority or Subject Matter Expert
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, piping, and industry standards
  • Proven experience reviewing technical documents, procedures, and training content
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, project-based environment

Nice To Haves

  • LNG facility or large-scale energy infrastructure project experience
  • Experience developing and delivering technical training or mentoring programs
  • EPC, owner/operator, or project execution support background

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert mechanical knowledge and technical insight to project teams, stakeholders, and clients
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for mechanical technical questions and issue resolution
  • Assist in the development, review, and approval of project documentation, procedures, training materials, and technical manuals
  • Review engineering deliverables, work instructions, and technical content developed by others for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend changes to improve safety, efficiency, and quality
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of mechanical policies, standards, and procedures
  • Participate in or lead training sessions, workshops, and technical briefings for project personnel
  • Provide guidance on mechanical best practices, codes, standards, and lessons learned
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for mechanical issues as required
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, QA/QC, and operations teams to ensure alignment and consistency
