About The Position

Collaborate with lower steering mechanical engineers to improve/optimize RQTs, DRs, SCCAFs, and all FMA related documents (DFMEAs, boundary diagrams, P-diagrams, etc) and sign-off on any mechanical updates to these core documents. Be an active participant in tech clubs and Technical Design Reviews (TDRs). Provide consistency between upper and lower steering core documents. Be a resource for D&R engineers to review mechanical design changes, non-compliant test results, and potential deviations. Help enforce a rigid process for getting core document changes and any deviations approved through management. Work with D&R's and suppliers to resolve certain design, manufacturing, and quality issues. Ensure documentation of design interfaces across commodity boundaries (upper steering to lower steering, upper steering to body, lower steering to suspension, lower steering to frame) is of high quality and robust by maintaining interface drawings and guide files. Support any stop ships and field service actions involving mechanical steering parts. Lead/support closure of all mechanical steering prevent recurrence through addressing systemic root cause with process or requirement updates. Ensure appropriate validation of requirements which include vehicle, system, sub-system including validation of interfaces with interfacing systems. Define appropriate Vehicle Validation and Verification test plans for mechanical steering technology to ensure vehicle safety and functionality. Technical support for critical issue resolution for in-flight and new steering technologies including launch, Recall, Quality/Field Issues. Collaborate with other Steering Technical Experts and Supervisors to deliver world class Steering Systems. Coach, Mentor, and Train engineers. Support sourcing of REPAS on new programs. This position is a salary grade 5 and ranges from $63,480-106,680. This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480-121,440. This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-141,360. This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720-162,120. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 3+ years of steering experience (ideally lower steering).
