Full-time, regular position, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week. Base pay for this position is $27.60 per hour (or appropriate transfer/promotion rate). Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work is primarily non-routine in nature due to calls for service, and variety of assigned projects. Performs skilled work in assigned department operations and maintenance, which includes inspecting, installing, and troubleshooting HVAC, and/or related systems. Monitors and troubleshoots assigned systems; processes and responds to work orders to ensure progress, safety, and/or compliance with operational policies and procedures Maintains and repairs assigned equipment as needed; performs ongoing maintenance checks to determine need and ensure operational safety. Maintains a variety of operational records, logs, and reports. Installs, maintains and repairs heating, ventilating, air conditioning and steam distribution equipment and systems to optimize energy use. Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, lap top computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work. Monitors, operates, maintains, modifies, troubleshoots, and replaces pneumatic, electronic, and direct digital controls systems for campus HVAC building controls, lighting controls, and building control system network to ensure occupant comfort, space pressurization, improve system efficiency, Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments. Requisitions material and supplies from stockroom, calls vendors to discuss needs for parts and supplies, and recommends purchases and suppliers. Reads complex blueprints, piping, sketches, schematics and wiring diagrams.
