About The Position

Program Overview: Participants will rotate through three different Watlow locations, spending approximately two months at each site. The final rotation will take place in San Jose, California, where they'll join a team of 120 engineers focused on new product development. This includes prototyping integrated thermal systems-such as tubular heaters mounted onto metal assemblies-in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment. The work is dynamic and hands-on, with engineers spending time in the machine shop, running product tests, and building next-generation solutions. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as responsibilities shift rapidly to meet evolving customer needs. This is not a desk job-expect to be on your feet, solving problems, and contributing directly to innovation. The Watlow rotational program offers students a chance to be part of a team working on projects that matter. It provides valuable experience beyond the classroom, allowing participants to build their engineering careers in a meaningful way.

Requirements

  • Graduated or Graduating by May 2026
  • Ability to start June 2026
  • Willingness to work in person, five days a week, at each assigned location

Responsibilities

  • Prototyping integrated thermal systems such as tubular heaters mounted onto metal assemblies
  • Working in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment with frequent changes and evolving priorities
  • Hands-on engineering experience in machine shops and lab settings-not limited to desk work
  • Running product tests to validate performance, reliability, and design intent
  • Building next-generation solutions that push the boundaries of thermal technology
  • Adapting quickly to shifting responsibilities and project scopes
  • Solving real-world problems through physical builds, experimentation, and collaboration
  • Contributing directly to innovation in a dynamic, team-based setting
  • Developing flexibility and resilience in response to customer needs and rapid iteration cycles
