About The Position

The Advanced Technology Laboratories (ATL) is a Lockheed Martin applied research and development center, aligned with the Corporation’s Chief Technology Officer. ATL works to advance scientific discovery and technology transition in human systems, robotics and autonomy, spectrum systems, data analytics and more. Spectrum Systems Lab (SSL) Engineers are problem solvers who combine diverse skillsets and backgrounds to deliver groundbreaking technology to customers, community, and company. They support research and technology development for projects funded externally and internally, helping advance the state-of-the-art for Defense and preparing customers and Lockheed Martin to be ahead of ready. This assignment involves the pursuit and execution of leading-edge research and development programs related to modeling, simulation, design, and testing for overall mechanical design. The role requires proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and the ability to perform advanced thermal and structural analysis for a wide range of applications. Candidates will engage in small, focused development teams to create real-world solutions by converting scientific first principles into innovative designs for applied technologies. Requirements

  • B.S. or equivalent professional experience in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Prior experience leading the mechanical design for prototypes and products, including 3-D CAD modeling, thermal and structural analysis, cable design, and manufacturing drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain a USG Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with DoW hardware systems and requirements.
  • Prior experience working with US Department of War Science and Technology organizations, ex. DARPA, AFRL, ARL, NRL, IARPA.
  • Current Top-Secret Clearance with an investigation within 6 years.
