About The Position

The position involves repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment and components such as industrial and commercial motors, pumps, gearboxes, and various rotating equipment of all sizes and types. This includes disassembly, evaluation, and repair of the equipment. The role requires inspecting equipment for physical damage, disassembling components, diagnosing mechanical and electric failures, and performing tests on parts and equipment. The technician will also be responsible for cleaning parts and tools, using various machinery, and ensuring that all products meet production, quality, and technical specifications.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience repairing electric AC/DC motors.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 8+ years of hands-on work experience disassembling/assembling industrial and/or commercial machinery or equipment.
  • Experience using pneumatic and manual hand tools and measuring tools.
  • Previous experience operating industrial equipment like forklifts, hoists, overhead cranes.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of pumps, motors, gearboxes, electrical and other related equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment and machinery schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operational instructions, and maintenance manuals.
  • Strong self-initiative and detail-oriented.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment and components for physical damage, missing parts, leaks, etc.
  • Disassemble equipment and components, marking and removing parts while measuring gears, shafts, bearings, etc.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electric failures through root cause analysis.
  • Test parts and equipment using multiple testing equipment.
  • Review schematic drawings to identify parts and procedures.
  • Perform Internet-based research using manufacturer and part numbers.
  • Operate lathes, drill presses, milling machines, and other general machine shop equipment.
  • Clean parts, tools, and equipment during disassembly and repair.
  • Use tools such as torches, grinders, and hydraulic pullers for disassembly and repair work.
  • Meet with leadership to determine daily and weekly work priorities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Participate in ongoing training and other company programs to develop job skills.
