About The Position

Purpose of Position: The Mechanical Quality Inspector plays a key role in maintaining our commitment to quality and safety. This position is responsible for performing inspections and testing at various stages of the production process to ensure products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. Rate depending on experience. Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Perform in-process and final inspections on production floor and completed units Conduct quality checks as assigned, including: In-process inspections Final product inspections Gauge sign-in/out for production use Assist in customer-required testing procedures, such as: Sound testing Water testing Operational/run testing Support production by addressing engineering and customer-related quality concerns. Maintain inventory of quality-related materials (e.g., tags, zip ties, documentation). Use and maintain measuring tools and inspection instruments. Ensure compliance with internal quality procedures and safety standards. Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager or their designer.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must possess excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and visual acuity.
  • Solid understanding of quality assurance and control processes.
  • Good communication skills; able to work well with production teams and management.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when needed.
  • Proficient in using basic measurement tools (calipers, tape measures, etc.).
  • Demonstrate ability to accurately read and interpret a tape measure (test will be required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Planner.
  • Background in welding, sheet metal, or mechanical systems (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with quality auditing procedures.
