Job SummaryWe’re looking for an experienced Mechancial Project Manager to lead mechanical service and construction operations across a designated region. In this role, you’ll oversee complex projects, drive new business opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure smooth coordination between field and office teams. The ideal candidate combines a strong mechanical background with exceptional leadership skills and the ability to balance hands-on project execution with strategic growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical contracting, with both service and construction focus.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems.
  • Proficiency in Procore, PlanGrid, Smartsheet, MS Project, MS Office, and Power BI.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Administration; equivalent field experience considered.
  • OSHA 30 and PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities for assigned construction and service projects to ensure objectives are met safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Manage job cost reports, budgets, and schedules; track and forecast project progress and expenses.
  • Prepare submittals, RFI’s, change orders, purchase orders, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate with field supervisors, service technicians, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure quality and schedule compliance.
  • Represent the company in client and project meetings
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the service department within the assigned region, ensuring efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage service technicians and dispatching, ensuring timely response and high-quality work execution.
  • Review service contracts, proposals, and preventive maintenance agreements for accuracy and profitability.
  • Monitor service performance metrics (response times, callbacks, productivity, and margins).
  • Support service technicians with technical direction, parts/material coordination, and escalation issues.
  • Lead and manage mechanical operations within the assigned geographic region, ensuring alignment with company standards and goals.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Construction on staffing, workload, and resource allocation for both service and construction projects.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to project managers, superintendents, and office staff.
  • Conduct regular regional meetings to review safety, performance, and client satisfaction.
  • Supervise and support office administrators in handling project documentation, billing, and scheduling.
  • Work closely with accounting and contracts departments to ensure timely billing, collections, and project closeouts.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency between field and office operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring open communication and customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct client follow-ups post-project completion to ensure long-term satisfaction and identify future opportunities.
  • Represent the company at networking events, industry functions, and client meetings.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within both service and construction sectors.
  • Generate new clients through referrals, networking, and strategic outreach.
  • Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams to develop proposals for new projects.
  • Work with marketing and leadership to expand regional presence and brand recognition.
  • Track market trends and competitor activity to guide strategic growth initiatives.
