Position Summary: The Project Engineer will play a critical role in supporting Polyglass operations to help the start-up, installation and production layout of new operations throughout the U.S. This Project Engineer will be based in Winter Haven, FL but will travel to other facilities as required (up to 25% of the time). This role will partner with subcontractors and facilities contractors to ensure capital projects are completed and new plants/processes are properly started up and meeting desired objectives. What You Get to Do: Successfully drive several different CAPEX, engineering and maintenance projects to support the organization throughout North America Share your expertise with site visits across the country to manage installations, work with contractors, design manufacturing layouts, develop new production lines, manage the development of new sites and buildings Problem solve and lead corrective actions on plant start-ups, installations, training and commissioning Technically lead each specific project for design, analysis and layouts of buildings, equipment, state regulations, federal regulations, manufacturing efficiency and managing contractors (land surveyors, architects, HVAC, Service Engineers etc.) Collaborate with all of Polyglass facility teams to facilitate the installation and start-up of the various project assignment to include: Planning: Prepare concept layouts and feasibility studies for their project assignments by obtaining the internal / external resources needed for each specific assignment. Will work with suppliers and vendors for CAPEX projects to review and receive quotes and work with internal / external design teams to develop plant layout options Prepare detailed cost estimates for presentation to the management team and facilitate CAPEX submissions for funding to execute their project assignments. General site construction: Working with General Contractors for the planning for facility modifications, expansions, and maintenance related activities. This includes close interaction with Civil, Architectural, Structural, MEP, and HVAC subcontractors to facilitate the goals and objectives. Machinery & Equipment: Facilitate the implementation of several types of machinery and equipment including but not limited to mixing systems, blenders, material handling equipment such as belt/screw/bucket/chain conveying systems, Air Compressors, wrappers, packaging equipment, and other plant systems. Facilitate and work with OEM technical service through the start-up, debug, and commissioning processes of these projects. The Skills and Background You Bring To Us:
