About The Position

As a Mechanical Project Designer supporting our Architecture and Engineering business unit, you will you are responsible for designing and drafting mechanical engineering projects under the guidance of Mechanical Engineers/Project Managers. The scope of design will include; HVAC, plumbing/piping, refrigeration, fire protection, and fuel systems. As part of a multi-disciplined firm, you will coordinate with Site/Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects and Construction Project Managers. You will be responsible for the production of mechanical engineering construction documents while adhering to client requirements, code requirements and site adjustments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 4 -10 years of experience with general building mechanical design production, preferably with commercial projects such as retail or restaurants
  • AutoCAD and MS Office Required; Revit is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design tasks and reports under the direction of senior staff.
  • Conduct site feasibility research and site visit investigations as well as generate reports/recommendations based on findings.
  • Assist in maintaining task budgets.
  • Coordinate and assist with addendums, RFI's and change orders.
  • Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project.
  • Assist senior staff with the project approval process.
