The role: what your day looks like As a Product Development Engineer II focused on New Product Introduction (NPI), you’ll guide new mechanical products from early concept through production launch. Morning stand-ups with Sales, Customer Service, Production, and Quality align priorities. Midday, you’re in SolidWorks refining a critical subassembly, applying DFM principles and GD&T to ensure manufacturability. In the afternoon, you’re on the floor piloting a new fixture and capturing updates for drawings, BOMs, and ECRs—keeping projects on time, on scope, and to spec.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years in mechanical design engineering.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, including CAD, PDM, and Simulation/FEA.
  • Fluency with design documentation, quality standards, GD&T, and ERP systems.
  • Hands-on build/assembly experience and troubleshooting skills for mechanical systems.
  • Strong analytical problem solving paired with excellent communication and collaboration.
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
  • CAD/CAM Software
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Responsibilities

  • Innovative product, subassembly, and component designs built in SolidWorks 3D CAD.
  • Designs optimized for scale and quality using DFM and rigorous GD&T application.
  • Clear documentation: detailed drawings, bills of materials, ECRs, and assembly work instructions.
  • Part and assembly drawings with appropriate tolerancing and geometric controls.
  • Purpose-built fixtures, tooling, and process improvements that accelerate in-house manufacturing.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Customer Service, Production, and Quality to hit project goals.
  • Active participation in design reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Uncompromising adherence to safety and quality standards.
