About The Position

As a Mechanical Product Design Engineer, you will design, develop, and validate mechanical systems for Ring and Blink devices. You will lead complex technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative hardware solutions that delight our customers. You will also leverage AI tools and methodologies to enhance mechanical design processes and outcomes. You will work closely with Product Marketing, Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, and the ME team to deliver high-volume consumer hardware. You will collaborate with vendors from concept through production ramp, using rapid prototyping and simulation tools to validate ideas before tooling. You will balance strategic design decisions with hands-on engineering work, including prototyping, teardown analysis, reviewing factory samples, and validating fixes. Your responsibilities span material selection, architecture development, manufacturing challenges, quality, and field performance. You will visualize solutions quickly, sketch concepts, and either execute the CAD work or lead contract engineers to complete it. The Ring Hardware Development team owns hardware delivery from concept through mass production of Ring and Blink devices. We partner closely with Product Marketing and Program Management to ensure our solutions meet quality, cost, and customer experience expectations. Our team includes Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and engineering support personnel, along with integrated contract engineers. We collaborate with external partners on CAD finalization, reliability testing, and manufacturing diagnostics. We work directly with injection molders and manufacturing partners to optimize assembly methods and production efficiency. Our team culture emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
