About The Position

Inside the Role The Cab & Chassis Engineering team is responsible for the development, design, and integration of chassis components for industry leading heavy duty specialty vehicles. Cab & Chassis Engineering includes, but not limited to: frame rails, frame cross-members, floor, body & cab structures, HVAC components, and fuel tanks for on-highway vehicle chassis models. These chassis models, produced by Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation, include applications for: truck, bus, RV, and motor coach vehicles. We Take Care of Our Team Position offers a starting salary range of $59,000 - $100,000 USD Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience. What You Drive at DTNA Apply theoretical principles and engineering techniques to design a vehicle or vehicle components that are reliable, serviceable, energy efficient, competitive, and use the latest industry technology. Uses computer-aided engineering (CAE) to solve complex vehicle design problems using finite element analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and fatigue analysis Creation, release and maintenance of vehicle components, installation diagrams and bill of materials (BOM) Address production & field issues with swift and thorough corrective actions including both long term and short-term solutions May also be involved with designing product specific manufacturing production processes and equipment Collaborates with marketing and industrial design teams to develop products that meet technical/functional specifications as well as manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements Interface with product regulation and compliance personnel to design vehicles that meet government regulations, restrictions and codes. Interface with the Test and Validation team to analyze problems encountered in prototype development and testing. Support the creation of test plans, execution of test results. Knowledge You Should Bring Bachelor’s degree with focus in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited college/university required. Demonstrated teamwork skills, including cross-functional collaboration Ability to learn and work within standard practices and procedures Ability to analyze information and problems of limited scope Strong oral and written communication skills Understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes & downstream impacts Works within standardized procedures to meet objectives and deadlines Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Project). Experience with identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems Demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks with the highest level of ethics while having a proven track record of developing strong working relationships with fellow employees. Exceptional Candidates Might Have 1-2 years of related experience preferred. Requirements
