Requirements

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
  • One (1) year of experience in the maintenance and operation of building mechanical systems including HVAC maintenance, electrical, plumbing, electrical and pneumatic control systems, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • One (1) year of experience in the maintenance and operation of high pressure boilers and associated equipment, where applicable, for positions responsible for maintaining boiler and cooling tower systems.
  • Personal driver license; class F or higher for Missouri residents.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain electrical chillers and steam absorbers.
  • Maintain and repair heating, air conditioning, ventilation systems, boiler, or cooling tower systems from single room units to complete building systems.
  • Maintain building/equipment temperatures and conditions through the operations of the BAS (Building Operation system) computer.
  • First responder to elevator trouble and entrapment, all emergency codes, power outages (both large and small), “Hot & Cold” calls.
  • Operate a pneumatic tube system and its computerized control, maintain and make necessary repairs.
  • Monitor and maintain chemical levels in cooling tower water treatment system.
  • Repair and maintain plumbing systems, open sewer drains, and replace faucets.
  • Check and operate fire alarm systems; operate and maintain medical air, vacuum, control air, and other lift safety air systems.
  • Maintain basic electrical circuits and equipment and maintain building accessories such as tables, chairs, carts, gas and electrical equipment.
  • Provide coverage for engineering-related duties during off-shifts.
  • May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
