As a Piping Engineer, you'll play an important role in your projects and across our Nuclear & Power Division. You'll work on a broad range of projects with plenty of opportunities to develop your technical capabilities and keep yourself challenged.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified mechanical engineer (or other relevant qualification).
  • Experience in piping and/or pressure vessel design and stress analysis.
  • Experience in writing accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports (e.g. design substantiations, basis of analysis, safety case references).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical practitioner able to demonstrate good engineering judgement and with good experience in using fundamental engineering skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with working in a safety critical and heavily regulated environment such as nuclear power generation/decommissioning industries.
  • Working towards chartership with a relevant professional institute.
  • Experience in working with design codes such as ASME BPVC Section III, RCC-M, BS EN 13480, BS EN 13445.
  • Awareness of UK legislation relating to piping.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects to deliver piping solutions for the construction of new nuclear stations and systems at fusion research facilities.
  • Support the operation of the existing nuclear generating fleet and decommission nuclear sites.
  • Engage with existing and prospective clients, working at their sites, and investing time in understanding their issues, goals, and processes.
