About The Position

The Mechanical Pipefitting Superintendent oversees and directs a team of foremen and pipefitters to deliver high-quality pipefitting projects while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. This role collaborates closely with leadership to align team efforts with company goals, drive profitability, and maintain a safe, efficient, and professional work environment. The Superintendent is responsible for project planning, execution, quality assurance, and fostering strong client and subcontractor relationships.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in mechanical pipefitting, with a strong background in project supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Self-motivated, punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor.
  • Familiarity with government facility projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards and quality assurance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop proactive solutions to prevent project issues and ensure seamless execution.
  • Conduct thorough physical surveys of project sites, documenting conditions and reporting findings as required.
  • Perform accurate material takeoffs and ensure timely procurement for projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site activities, including scheduling, material control, equipment rentals, and daily operations.
  • Coordinate with fabrication shops to schedule production and deliveries efficiently.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of weekly timesheets for all team members.
  • Uphold and exceed industry standards for quality in all project deliverables.
  • Conduct quality assurance assessments to minimize call-backs and warranty issues.
  • Perform job-site walkthroughs with clients to confirm satisfaction and address concerns.
  • Oversee project start-ups, ensuring completion of start-up sheets for assets and submission for warranty processes.
  • Enforce company and project-specific safety protocols, ensuring all personnel wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Document incidents, notify leadership, and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Collaborate with the safety officer to conduct jobsite safety inspections and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients to support repeat business and future opportunities.
  • Foster proactive communication with the construction team, including contractors, engineers, and owners.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors to enhance project efficiency and future collaboration.
  • Schedule subcontractors proactively to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide mentorship, and nominate individuals for promotions or incentive bonuses.
  • Assist in interviewing and evaluating prospective employees, providing hiring recommendations.
  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork.
